How can I set up Dongle (ACD12-A) - I'd like to use this tool without the long wire. Thanks!
Xencelabs Mail
That is a great question. You will need to plug the Xencelabs wireless dongle into your computer or powered USB hub, and you will be up and running. It is that easy.

I am a little confused by the documentation. In several places you mention that the device will support up to 40 commands per application and up to 29 applications. In other places the documentation suggests 8 commands per application and 40 commands in total. Which is correct?
Xencelabs Mail
That is a great question; I can see how that can be unclear! Let me explain it a bit differently. The Quick Keys has 8 physical buttons that can be customized, and there are 5 sets (of 8 buttons) that you can toggle through by pressing the Set button, and each has 8 customizable settings. That is how we get to the 40 sets of buttons that are customizable per application.
You can add 29 applications to the Settings panel. When you add a program to the Settings panel, you can then apply custom settings that will work with just that application. That is where the real power of the Settings panel comes into play.
The Dial also has 4 positions that can be customized for dual action like Zoom In, and Zoom Out for each application added to the Settings panel.

How soon can we expect macros to be compatible with QuickKeys?
Xencelabs Mail
That is a feature that the Xencelabs Driver team is looking at and working on. I do not have a date for when this will happen.
On a similar note, the Driver team is increasing the number of characters that can be added to the Keystroke entry field. This will be rolled out in the next Driver version, and more changes will come.

How can I set up a quick key to trigger a WindowsKey+ shortcut? For example; If I press the Windows key + H to train the key to open the speech recognition feature it briefly captures the keystrokes but then deletes the "+H" portion when the window focus is pulled to the speech recognition window that has popped up. Pasting in "Win+H" only triggers the Windows key without the modifier.
Xencelabs Mail
That is a great question and one that our Driver team is working on currently. As you discovered, when you place the KeyPress sequence into the Keystroke field, it activates the Windows function you want to input. The Driver team has developed a work-around that I have put in the below FAQ.

I hope this helps; for now, please stay tuned for more improvements as we release drivers.

Can I set up the Quick Keys to control specific applications on my computer?
Xencelabs Mail
yes, you can set up the Quick Keys to perform specific actions on applications that are running. When you switch to a different application, you can have a different set of actions for that application. The Settings program and the Quick Keys work together in making that happen.
