Animation Director, Legacy Animator for Disney

Tony Bancroft is an esteemed animator and animation director, known for co-directing Disney's "Mulan," which earned him an Annie Award for Best Director. His extensive animation career includes contributions to iconic films like "Aladdin," "Beauty and the Beast," and "Shrek." Bancroft also created the beloved character Pumbaa in "The Lion King" and directed "Magical Circus: Animal Crackers." He served as executive producer for the Oscar-nominated "Mosley" and chaired the Animation Section Jury at the Shanghai International Film Festival 2017. Tony Bancroft is an alumnus of the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts).

I love traveling around the world, and I always want to capture every moment of inspiration when it strikes. The illustration I am creating right now with Xencelabs is an imaginative story about me drawing in a magical forest kingdom. It’s the place I go to in my mind when I dream of being out in a fantastic realm drawing. The portability of the Xencelabs Pen Display 16 has inspired this fantasy scenario of me going to wonderful, exotic and fantastic places where I can be inspired to create the worlds where my characters reign. It’s a place where my characters live and celebrate creativity.
